Doctor of Clinical Psychology, Licensed Master's Level Psychologist

Brandon Schmid

I am a clinical psychologist with a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) degree, specializing in Gestalt, Emotion-focused, Psychodynamic, and Cognitive Behavioral therapies. My approach is deeply integrative and customized to the needs of my clients. My journey into psychology began with a deep curiosity about the complexity of human emotions and the ways in which relationships, experiences, and internal conflicts shape our lives.  I also have extensive training in psychological assessment of various neurodevelopmental psychological disorders and behavioral presentations.

My passion for Gestalt Therapy stems from its emphasis on the here-and-now experience, empowering clients to become more self-aware and take ownership of their lives. Through Emotion-Focused Therapy, I guide clients in processing complex emotions, fostering greater emotional intelligence and resilience. From a psychodynamic perspective, I delve into the influence of past experiences and unconscious processes, helping clients uncover patterns that shape their current behaviors and relationships. Additionally, my work incorporates the practical tools of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, enabling clients to identify and reframe negative thought patterns and develop adaptive coping strategies.

In my practice, I aim to create a warm, supportive environment where clients feel safe to explore their inner experience. My mission is to help each individual achieve greater self-understanding, emotional well-being, and meaningful connections with others.  I integrate these approaches to provide a holistic and personalized therapy experience. My sessions are collaborative and experiential, often involving creative techniques like role-playing, mindfulness, or exploring body sensations to deepen awareness and foster growth.

What inspires me most in this work is witnessing transformation. I have had the privilege of helping individuals overcome anxiety, trauma, relational struggles, and self-doubt, seeing them emerge with greater resilience, authenticity, and self-acceptance.  My own life has been shaped by personal growth and healing, which gives me a deep sense of empathy and respect for the courage it takes to seek therapy. This understanding fuels my commitment to supporting others on their journeys to psychological healing and wholeness.
