Sheila Bevan is a Licensed Professional Counselor and received her Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Emporia State University. While she enjoys working with children and adolescents of all functioning levels, she has developed expertise in working with intellectual/developmental disabilities and co-occurring mental/behavioral health concerns. In addition to 7+ years of experience in working with this population, Sheila also maintains certification as an Autism Specialist.
Sheila is passionate about helping her clients grow and process feelings through different play therapy techniques. Her preferred approaches to therapy include Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Directive and Non-Directive Play Therapy, and Behavioral Therapy. Sheila’s experiences working in foster care and residential treatment have contributed to a passion for helping children and their families heal from trauma and cope effectively with challenging life circumstances.
